Assignment: Ulleråker, located just south of Uppsala city center, is one of the country’s largest urban development projects. Uppsala municipality will start the work with public art in Ulleråker in 2017. The work will follow the expansion of the district that takes place in stages. Ann Magnusson/AM Public is employed as the art consultant and developed an art program during 2017-18. The art program is an overall document describing the work with art during the development of the neighborhood. It concerns conditions, processes, directions, places and eventually specific art projects in dynamic interaction with Ulleråker’s history and future. Both site-specific art and art events of a permanent or temporary character will take place over the years when the new district emerges.
